The Big Friendly Read – Summer Reading Challenge 2016
It’s all happening at your local library and it’s totally FREE! The fun has already begun and runs until 3 September – right through the school holidays.
The Big Friendly Read, AKA Summer Reading Challenge 2016, is your chance to join in the whizzpopping fun! Libraries everywhere are celebrating 100 years of the world’s favourite storyteller – Roald Dahl.
You can sign up at your local library now and all you need to do to take part in the challenge is read 6 or more books over the summer, and that means anything: picture books, fact books or stories from your favourite authors, and borrow them from the library. You’ll also get a special “collector card” and gain rewards along the way plus you’ll receive a medal and certificate if you succeed.
It’s fun, it’s friendly and best of all – it’s totally free!
On top of all of this there are lots of free activities across our libraries to get involved in too. Enjoy Roald Dahl themed events for children and families to enjoy including creative workshops, story time, magic, potion making, crafts and meeting the “Mini Beasts” of Roald Dahl with White Post Farm!
